Body Composition Analysis
Understanding your body's composition can be the tool that helps you achieve health and fitness or to excel as an athlete. DXA (DEXA) scanning technology is the gold standard in body composition analysis and tells you so much more than a simple weight or body mass index does. Routinely used to assess bone density for the prevention of fractures DXA scanning can also tell you your percentage fat and lean muscle mass. This is increasingly being used to support the training and rehabilitation of elite athletes. Monitoring these components can help guide you to maintain health and well being, not just in obesity but in the many illnesses that can cause disordered metabolism or that may be caused by disordered nutrition. Under current regulations we will only carry out a DEXA scan where it is addressing a health related problem.

Body composition scans with DXA provide precise and accurate data on bone and tissue composition, including bone mineral density, lean tissue mass and fat tissue mass. They provide total body data and regional results (trunk, arms, legs, pelvis and android/gynoid regions).
